Marlyn Lee Hughes

Marlyn our Chair of Trustees is a Radiographer qualified at Edinburgh University, a former BA Air Hostess and a teacher and designer of Education Courses at Newbury College. Marlyn is our Director of Studies at the Green Economics Institute Trust.

Miriam Kennet, Founding Trustee



name=”Miriam Kennet” job=”” ] Miriam Kennet was one of the Founder Members of the Green Economics Institute Trust. She has been trained in Trust issues, administration, finance and many other aspects of Trust Management and is on the board of two other Foundations, The Green European Foundation and the European Network of Political Foundations,  one in Luxembourg and one in Brussels.


Pamela Harling, Trustee


Pamela Harling graduated in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and has an MSc in Information Science and one in Landscape Ecology. She has worked in technical libraries for BP and the Central Electricity Generating Board, in the conservation sector (The Woodland Trust), environmental consultancy (Environmental Resources Management) and environmental policy (International Institute for Environment and Development).

Don O Neal, Trustee

Don O’Neal has a BSc(Hons) in Mathematics and an MA in Environmentalism and Society, both from Oxford Brookes University. He is a political columnist for The News and The Vincentian national newspapers in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He is a cofounder of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Green Party.

Bianca Madison – Vuleta, Trustee


Bianca Madison-Vuleta is highly trained and experienced in the areas of holistic, ecological and sustainable living. Bianca has been actively involved in the work of numerous national and international human rights and environmental NGOs as a committed and inspired campaigner, fundraiser and public speaker. A passionate humanitarian and environmentalist and Co-founder of The Sustainable Planet Foundation, Bianca works tirelessly to be the change in the world.

Michelle S Gale D’Oliveira, Trustee

Michelle S Gale de Oliveira

Michelle S. Gale de Oliveira is a director of the Green Economics Institute, UK. She is a member of the Law School of the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), holding an MA in Human Rights Law with a focus on Islamic Law, Peace-Building, and Developing Countries, specifically South Sudan. Founder of the Gender Progress Consortium, she holds degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Richmond, the American International University in London (RAIUL). She is a deputy editor of the International Journal of Green Economics.

Councillor David Williams, Trustee


Councillor David Williams has a Degree in Art History and Politics at Newcastle University and international politics at Manchester University with an MA. He took a further Masters Degree in International Education later. David worked as a senior lecturer in FE and HE for 35 years in a number of Colleges and Universities including a number of years as Chief Executive of Quest Quays International an organisation heavily involved in developmental projects with Eastern European countries. He came to Oxford in 1997 as head of the International Office at what is now OCVC. His role was to recruit students to study in Oxford at the College and its associates. As a result of his work he travelled all over the world.David now heads up Oxford UK Excellence a consultancy group that brings leading edge expertise in a wide range of themes to international clients. After 20 years on Rochdale Council as a Labour councillor where he served as Chair of Education Committee and Chair of Economic Development.

Rosalind Firminger, Trustee


Rosalind (Centre)  is our Trusts and Taxation specialist and advisor.

Paul Kennet, Engineer, Trustee


Paul Kennet is our business and engineering and technical advisor as well as sitting on the board of several other charities and advising about Charity Practice.


Douglas Watson, Trustee

Douglas Watson has extensive experience in satellite communications and navigation consultancy, SME learning, technology transfer and innovation management within the University and industry (SME) sectors. He is the former Global Business Development Manager at Carpe Diem and has held senior international positions at Inmarsat, Ericsson and Motorola. He has participated in numerous SME focused research projects funded by industry, regional and national research councils, the European Space Agency and the European Commission, culminating in his appointment by the European Commission as an expert external evaluator and project manager of FP7 Projects. He is also currently acting as Consultant to the University of Nottingham’s GNSS Research and Applications Centre of Excellence where he acts as programme manager for the European Satellite Navigation Competition, which aims to stimulate SME innovation in the downstream satellite navigation market. GRACE is part of the Nottingham Geospatial Institute at the University of Nottingham, an internationally recognised centre of excellence in surveying, positioning and navigation technologies.


Jack Easton, Trustee


Jack is now committed to harnessing his accounting and business skills for the good of the broad green agenda, and was part of the GEI team in Paris at COP21.

Jack is our lead on Finance and Accounting and Sustainability.

Jack Easton is a qualified Chartered Accountant who has enjoyed a long career in public practice in the UK.  Until recently Jack was the Technical and Training partner in a City of London-based firm of accountants, specialising himself in auditing and financial reporting by both companies and not-for profit organisations such as charities. As you might have already guessed, the role also included the oversight of the firm’s training programme and the delivery of many of its courses.  He was one of the founders of Transition St Albans and remains on the local steering group.  Long ago but not so far away, Jack’s first degree was in Mathematics.
